Knit the Bridge

Have you heard of the Andy Warhol Bridge in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania?  It was yarn bombed in early August of 2013 by “hundreds of individuals participants who have created and shaped this community project as artists, stitchers, riggers, and cheerleaders!”  Have a look at the community, the fabulous craft work, and some of the technology involved:

Crochet Steam Engine Cover

Textile artist, Agata Oleksiak has completed her largest work covering a steam locomotive and two carriages with crochet, working round the clock through rain with a team in Lodz, Poland.  This work was created to commemorate the Polish Poet, Julian Tuwin whose poem celebrates the steam train history in Poland.
