Margaret D. has knit two glorious blankets that she donated to the Guild to sell to raise funds for the Guild and for Nova House. (Click on the images for a larger view.)

Domino blanketThe first is a Lucy Neatby design called Domino Blanket (scroll down to the middle of the page) knit using 14 skeins - each a different colourway - of Noro Kureyon. Margaret put all the skeins in a bag and reached in blindly to select the next colour. Each skein knit up just over three of the domino squares in the blanket. While at Three Bags Full, Linda H suggested Margaret use a solid coloured border instead of the Kureyon - together they chose Briggs and Little Heritage.

Log Cabin blanket
The second blanket is a wonderful log cabin-style pattern from the Mason-Dixon Knitting book written by bloggers Kay Gardiner and Ann Meador Shayne (read their blog). All those bright colours are Cascade 220.

Both blankets use modular knitting techniques where each square or strip is knit individually and attaches itself to the module beside it as it’s knit.

Thank you Margaret for the blankets and your generousity.
