Your User Account

WCKG tech/admin

The people who keep this site running so that everyone else can focus on filling it up. We're mostly behind-the-scenes, but sometimes have important information to share.

Subscribe to the RSS feed for Your User Account comments.

A registered user account for westcoastknitters.org will grant you access to various sections and functions of the site, depending on your Role. Almost all WCKG user accounts will be set to ‘Contributor’ privileges. This will allow you to write and edit posts directly in the admin panel, but your posts will be reviewed by an editor before they are published.
Note: You do not need a user account to view the site or to leave a comment, although if you are a regular site visitor or commenter you may find it useful and convenient.

Who Can Have a User Account? and How Do I Get Mine?

Any West Coast Knitters Guild member is eligible; non-guild members must be approved by the executive.

To request an account, use the contact form and be sure to include your name and email address. If you are a current WCKG member your account will be created (by a human, so be patient!) and your user ID and password will be emailed to you. If you are not a member, your request will be considered. You may be asked to provide additional information, and if approved your user ID and password will be emailed to you.

Problem accounts may be suspended immediately and without notice, and would be evaluated on a case by case basis before being reactivated or cancelled. Please respect us, our policies, and each other.

Admin Panel Options

The options available to you in the admin panel will depend on your role. Most users will be able to write and edit, but not publish, their own posts. Editors will be able to write, edit, and publish any posts that are not marked as private or password protected. All registered users should be able to customize their own profile.

Customize Your Profile

You can change your password or add information to your own profile in the admin panel. The email address is required but will not be displayed on the site. Other information you may optionally include, such as names, website URL, short text, will be published.
